Program Overview:

Join the Makeda School for Art, Media, and Humanities for an educational tour and post-tour artistic activation and writing workshop at the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania!

We will experience an hour-long docent-led tour of Tomashi Jackson: Across the Universe and Dominique White and Alberta Whittle: Sargasso Sea. After the docent tour, participants will have an additional amount of time to spend with the exhibitions to engage in close looking at the artwork before gathering for a 45-minute post-tour reflection utilizing writing and art-making led by Makeda School director, Katherine Cheairs. 

This new programming from Makeda School is an opportunity to engage in close looking and reflection through Black diasporic artistic practice! Join us!!!
